On the January 30 tapings of NXT, Leppan debuted under the Adam Rose name and had the gimmick of an eccentric rock star.[1]

On 11 May 2016, Leppan was arrested for tampering with a witness (domestic) and battery domestic assault.[2] He would be suspended by WWE and then granted his release when he asked for it.[3][4] On 14 June 2016, Leppan would release a shirt with his mugshot on it and say the idea came from his wife.[5]

On 18 March 2019, Leppan announced that he was retiring from professional wrestling in-ring competition.[6]
