Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire is a commune in the Nièvre department in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté region in central France. It is a subprefecture of the department.

changeCosne-Cours-sur-Loire is in the northwest of the department, on the border with the Cher department; it is on the confluence of the Loire and the Nohain rivers at 55 km (34 mi) of Nevers, the subprefecture of the Nièvre department.

Cosne-Cours-sur-Loire is surrounded by the communes La Celle-sur-Loire, Myennes, Tracy-sur-Loire, Saint-Martin-sur-Nohain, Saint-Loup, Saint-Père and Saint-Vérain; it borders to the west with the Cher department.
