Indo-Aryan language spoken in India and Pakistan

Dogri (ڈوگرى) is a Western Pahari language. Dogri speakers are predominantly in the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir, India, with smaller groups of speakers in adjoining regions of western Himachal Pradesh, northern Punjab states of India, Dogri is also spoken in Pakistani Punjab Province.

It is spoken by about two million people in Jammu Kashmir region in India and Pakistan, chiefly in the Jammu region of Jammu and Kashmir, but also in northern Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, other parts of Indian controlled Kashmir, and elsewhere. Dogri speakers are called Dogras, and the Dogri-speaking region is called Duggar.

Dogri is a member of the Western Pahari Group of languages. Unusually for an Indo-European language, Dogri is tonal, a trait it shares with other Western Pahari.
