Full-time equivalent

unit of workload devoted to a task or project, equivalent to one person working full-time

Full-time equivalent (FTE) is a way of counting the number of people working. An FTE of 1.0 means a full-time worker or student, while an FTE of 0.5 means half of a full time person.[1]

It is often used to tell how many people would work at a company if they worked full time. 10 people working 50% are 5 FTEs.
