On history and contributions pages, there should be an "s" beside the edit, not an "m", since the term "small change" is used on simple_pedia instead of "minor edit". —Waterfox (talk) 18:37, 25 August 2010 (UTC)

Vandalism
changeCurrently, reverting vandalism is categorized as a minor edit. I'm not sure this should be so. While any "normal" editor would agree that removing some-thing like "asoi; gi," "Billy Gene's the greatest volleyball player of all time and likes chocolate Sundays" and gratuitous vulgarities are vandalism, what about other cases such as when an editor includes vulgarities in a valid quotation from the subject. Some editors might feel this is gratuitous -- after all, there are millions of sentences that an adult has spoken; the "vandal" might argue that this is a key sentence for understanding the subject individual. Or what about a revert of an adddition about some aspect of a person's life that the "vandal" considers totally relevant (maybe involvement and success in some, to most of us, totally unknown online game or organization) yet gets reverted by some-one who thinks it is vandalism because it doesn't relate to the important things about the subject individual. I think these kinds of reverts are contentious and need to be decided individually. Some-one who patrols her or his articles of interest might ignore minor edits and thus miss a revert of a, to her or his mind, legitimate change. Kdammers (talk) 12:21, 25 May 2015 (UTC)
