James Dunn (actor)

James Howard Dunn (November 2, 1901 – September 1, 1967) was an American actor and comedian. Dunn was born in Manhattan, New York. His movie role was in Bad Girl (1931). He appeared in three Shirley Temple movies. His best known role was as Johnny Nolan in A Tree Grows in Brooklyn (1945). He won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for this role.

Dunn died on September 1, 1967 in Santa Monica, California of problems caused by stomach surgery, aged 65.[1]
