Jeb Hensarling

former U.S. Representative from Texas

Jeb Hensarling (born May 29, 1957) is an American politician.[1] Hensarling was the U.S. Representative for Texas's 5th congressional district, serving from 2003 to 2019.[1]

He was the chair of the House Financial Services Committee, and has previously served as the chairman of the House Republican Conference from 2011 to 2013. Hensarling is a member of the Republican Party.[2]

On October 31, 2017, Hensarling announced that he would retire from Congress at the end of his current term, and would not seek re-election in 2018.[3]

Hensarling was born on May 29, 1957 in Stephenville, Texas.[1] He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Arts degree.[1] He received his Juris Doctor at University of Texas at Austin.[1] He is married to Melissa Hensarling. They have two children.
