Jim Abrahams

American movie director and writer (1944–2024)

James Steven Abrahams (May 10, 1944 – November 26, 2024) was an American movie director and screenwriter. He was born in Shorewood, Wisconsin.[1] His career began in 1976 and he retired in 2019. He was known for directing and writing spoof movies such as Airplane!, The Naked Gun and Hot Shots! movies.

Abrahams died on November 26, 2024 at his home in Santa Monica, California from leukemia at the age of 80.[2]
