José Ramos-Horta
2nd and 5th President of East Timor, Nobel Prize laureate
José Manuel Ramos-Horta GCL AC (Portuguese pronunciation: [ʒuˈzɛ ˈʁɐ̃muz ˈɔɾtɐ]; born 26 December 1949) is an East Timorese politician and 1996 Nobel Peace Prize winner. Ramos-Horta is the President of East Timor since 2022.[1] He was president before from 20 May 2007 to 20 May 2012.[2] He was the United Nations' special Representative and Head of the United Nations Integrated Peacebuilding Office in Guinea-Bissau (UNIOGBIS).[3]
