Kenneth Jay Lane

American fashion and jewelry designer

Kenneth Jay Lane (April 22, 1932 – July 20, 2017) was an American costume jewelry designer. He was born in Detroit, Michigan.[1] Lane started designing jewelry and launched his business in 1963 whilst producing bejeweled footwear for Dior and Arnold Scaasi. In 1966 Lane was awarded a special Coty Award for his jewelry design.[2] He also won the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award in 1968.

Lane died in his sleep at his Manhattan apartment on July 20, 2017 at the age of 85.[3]
