Manuel Felguérez
Mexican artist (1928-2020)
Manuel Felguérez Barra (December 12, 1928 – June 8, 2020) was a Mexican abstract artist. He was part of the Generación de la Ruptura which broke with the muralist movement of Diego Rivera and others in the mid 20th century.

Career
changeIn 1947, he had the chance to travel to Europe and, impressed with the art there, decided to dedicate himself to the vocation. His works were in abstract art, something that was not accepted in Mexico at the time.
His exhibitions were only seen in a few galleries and "sculpted murals".
Death
changeFelguérez died on June 8, 2020 from COVID-19 at the age of 91.[1][2]
