Sheltered away in the southeastern province of Granma, located near the Gulf of Guacanayabo, Manzanillo is an authentic municipality, seemingly untouched by the hands of time. Cuba’s hidden gem, it’s a destination where rich history effortlessly merges with beautiful landscapes, while its vibrant culture and local charm invite visitors to experience the real Cuba.

This fairly pedestrian city is renowned for its charming neoclassical buildings, with richly decorated crescents and tile mosaics dating back to the 1910 and 20s – the majority of which can be admired in the central Parque Céspedes. Whilst you’re here, marvel over the Glorieta (gazebo), an imitation of the Patio de los Leones in Spain’s Alhambra that towers over the square. [1]

The 2010 population is reported to be 130,616[2]
