Nick Buoniconti

American football player (1940-2019)

Nicholas Anthony Buoniconti (December 15, 1940 – July 30, 2019) was an American professional football player. He was a middle linebacker in the American Football League (AFL) and National Football League (NFL). He played for the Boston Patriots and Miami Dolphins. He won two Super Bowls with the Dolphins. Buoniconti was added into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2001.

Buoniconti died on July 30, 2019, in Bridgehampton, New York, at the age of 78.[1] After his death, an autopsy revealed that Buoniconti had been suffering from chronic traumatic encephalopathy (CTE).[2]
