Olfactory receptor

Olfactory receptors are receptors found in the cell membranes of olfactory receptor neurons. They are responsible for detecting odorants. Olfactory receptors activates nerve impulses which send information about odor to the brain. These receptors are members of the class A rhodopsin-like which is family of G protein-coupled receptors.[1][2]
