Pat Saiki

American politician

Patricia Fukuda "Pat" Saiki (born May 28, 1930) is an American politician and former school teacher. She is from Hilo in the State of Hawai'i.

Saiki served as a Republican in United States House of Representatives from 1987 to 1991 and then as Administrator of the Small Business Administration under President of the United States George H. W. Bush.

In 1990, she ran and lost the Hawaii United States Senate race to Daniel Akaka. In 2008, she chaired the 2008 presidential campaign of Rudy Giuliani.

Saiki was born in Hilo, Hawaii to Japanese parents. She studied at the University of Hawaii, Manoa. She married Stanley Mitsuo Saiki. They had five children.
