Saigon railway station
railway station in District 3, Vietnam
The Saigon railway station (Vietnamese: Ga Sài Gòn) is the train station for Ho Chi Minh City. It is the southernmost train station of the North-South railway in Vietnam. It is about 1 km away from the city center.
The Saigon railway station of today is not the first train station for the city. The first train station was located across Ben Thanh Market near the city center. Although the city's name was changed from Saigon to Ho Chi Minh City at the end of the Vietnam War in 1975, the name of the train station did not change.
