In Eastern European Mythology, Solomonari are wizards who ride dragons and control the weather. They started out as normal people but then they went to an underground school called the Scholomance to learn magic from the Devil for seven years. The Scholomance would have ten students at a time one of whom would be chosen by The Devil to control the weather.
