I do not see much use in this page. However, I have tried to change the wording so that the points do not sound so much as they are stating facts about Muslims. Parheliu (talk) 08:56, 21 April 2011 (UTC) (Sorry, this was me)

changeSeems like it's justifying Islamophobia... — Preceding unsigned comment added by Shiningroad (talk • contribs)
- I tried to find a picture, and Pim Fortyn came up; the others I see are either insulting to Muslims, or some demostrators. I don't say this picture is the best, its just the best I found so far. (And yes, I know Fortyn had far-right views; but that is not the issue here). --Eptalon (talk) 17:23, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- I meant the bit about him being killed by Islamic fundamentalists. Like, "if you challenge Islam you will get killed". That's reinforcing hostility towards Islam is it not? Shiningroad (talk) 17:38, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- And the "Islamophobia" looks like scare quotes. Not neutral. Shiningroad (talk) 17:46, 12 November 2013 (UTC)

I'm sure we can find a better illustration of Islamophobia, which is generally more associated with bigotry rather than criticism. Fortuyn's article on the English Wikipedia describes him as strongly critical of Islam, but we can't really equate that with Islamophobia. Perhaps something from commons:Category:Islamophobia would be better suited? Osiris (talk) 20:34, 12 November 2013 (UTC)
- What about the photo that's used on most of the other language versions, File:Gathering of eagles.jpg? He clearly doesn't have a problem with being labelled an islamophobe. Osiris (talk) 18:35, 14 November 2013 (UTC)
- I looked through the category, and didn't find anything useful. Look at the picture: It shows some protester, holding a sign. Given the general look of the protester, it might as well be a meeting of a motor club, protesting against high fuel prices. Ideal would be a picture that graphically shows violence against some clearly Muslim structure. Btw: If you do not want to take Pim Fortyn, you can also take Theo van Gogh, who was killed for a similar reason. --Eptalon (talk) 21:52, 16 November 2013 (UTC)

- But again, who says he was Islamophobic? He was a critic of Islam, but he wasn't necessarily a bigot or an Islamophobe... It sounds like his film intended to raise awareness about poor treatment of women under Sharia, not specifically to insult Islam. We need something that illustrates hate and intolerance of Islam, not thoughtful criticism of it. Osiris (talk) 02:13, 17 November 2013 (UTC)
