Tarō Asō (麻生 太郎, Asō Tarō, born 20 September 1940) is a Japanese politician. He is a member of the ruling Liberal Democratic Party. He was the 92nd Prime Minister of Japan. He is from Iizuka, Fukuoka.

Early life and education

Asō, a Roman Catholic, was born in Iizuka in Fukuoka Prefecture on 20 September 1940.[1]

Asō graduated from the Faculty of Politics and Economics at Gakushuin University,[2] and the London School of Economics.[3]
