Template:Polytonic
{{{1}}}
Template:polytonic is deprecated. Please use {{lang|grc|...}} instead. This template has been kept because it was widely used in the past and deleting it would make reading old versions of articles annoying (Greek text would not show, but only a red link to this template). |
This template transcludes {{lang}} with ISO 639-3 grc: {{lang|grc|{{{1}}}}}.
Note: This formerly widely used template is deprecated and currently kept so that earlier revisions of articles remain legible. It was previously used to ensure proper font rendering of accented Greek (polytonic) text in browsers that did not handle automatic font substitution well. This is now handled by the standard language tagging syntax {{lang|grc|...}}. It is recommended to use this syntax instead for marking ancient Greek text.
Users who wish to set an individual font preference for Greek formatted text can do so by adding something like the following line to their personal .css file:
[lang=grc] { font-family:Gentium, "Linux Libertine", "Palatino Linotype"; }
