You're supposed to expand the articles. PiRSquared17 01:50, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

I did. The rest in my list are <noinclude>d because they're notes to myself to expand. If I'm not supposed to do that, I'll move that list to my userspace; I just like it all in one place. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 01:52, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm sorry. I thought that they were included. PiRSquared17 01:54, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
I'm not half that capable... :P You've gotten to a pretty good start, though. :) {{Sonia|talk|en}} 02:02, 1 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Acc creation tool

Hello, I (along with other users) on the #wikipedia-en-accounts feed monitor requests closely. There is a helpful bot in there that relays new account requests along with who reserved it, comments added to a request and how it is closed. Recently I've seen your request, there's nothing wrong about it; I don't meant to be bossy but if you close something as custom, make sure you put a comment before in the request as it helps to clarify why you specified the custom close (unless you Cc the email to the accounts mailing list). Seeing as the username was promotional, the UPolicy option would do, saving time to type in a custom email. :) Cheers, Nifky^ 08:55, 7 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Oh, okay. I didn't know that I had to add a comment; basically I sent a polite little message with links to WP:BFAQ and a few other pages. I can't watch the feed because irc is blocked on my computer... :( Thanks for telling me. :) {{Sonia|talk|en}} 09:34, 7 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sorry

Hi Sonya. Sorry for this, I didn't know you had already notified the user. :) I hope your computer works well. Best wishes, Belle tête-à-tête 07:02, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

No issues, Bella. I was in the middle of qd'ing the page when my computer froze, and you had no way of knowing that. Regards, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 07:20, 24 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

Don't understand you editing style

Hi, I'm a novice. I do not understand what your “Reverted changes” means. The last page I've created was of Human penis size. You pointed out, that the page should be simplified. Today I have twice tried to simplify the page, but you twice and instantly reverted my edits. Does it mean that it is wiser for me to leave the project of the Simple Wikipedia and cease to contribute? GenOrl 06:38, 31 May 2010 (UTC)"Reply

I'm sorry. Reverted changes is the default message left by rollback, which is a tool. As far as I know, I have never rolled back your contributions specifically, unless you were not logged in when you made them.
You have done well in making the page. When I first rolled back that page, it was because you usually only link to a different page once, and a big part of the change I rolled back was linking all 53 instances of penis. The second rollback, I was actually rollbacking myself because I saw that I was wrong and there was other stuff in that edit. Then I unlinked the extra links without reverting the rest of your changes.
I am very sorry that I came across the way I did, and grateful that you came to talk to me instead of just leaving. I would hate to see you go. Please accept my apology, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 07:30, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply
Please, accept my apology for my hastiness. As a novice and a foreigner, I am much obscured by the tools and procedures being used, maybe it’s due to my insufficient practice in English. When I tried to save the edit, there was a notice that I’m not logged in at the moment. I didn’t understand why it happened as I was in the process of editing. GenOrl
No, I should have known better. (By the way, you're still logged out- if you look at the history of Human penis size, the last two edits by you have an IP address by them instead of your username.) If you have any questions or comments, feel free to tell me here, or to ask the community at the discussion board. Regards, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 08:04, 31 May 2010 (UTC)Reply

User:TeleComNasSprVen

Hello, as you may have noticed in your most effusive of greetings that I also have a separate user page on English Wikipedia, and I mainly choose to work from there. So I may only visit this site ever so rarely, but thanks for the message again... Oh, and could you help resolve our little dispute over whether Irrational ~umbers should be capitalized or not, so that we could reach consensus? Thanks again, TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 07:45, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

As far as I know, it shouldn't have a capital. Irrational Numbers, with the second capital, looks like a proper noun. My apologies for not checking whether you were also an enWikipedian (as am I), but I do hope you stop over every now and then! Wikiproject Maths needs help, and I'm not the most qualified person to do much about it, so it'd be great to have the assistance of one more. Regards, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 08:03, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks, and there's no need to apologize... TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 08:07, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wikiproject Maths

Is it okay if I just add a little bit more content to the page? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 08:57, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I suppose it's okay, but you might want to leave a short note on the talk page about it. Thanks, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 09:19, 2 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Redirect(s)

Should I continue to create more redirect(s) for page(s) that have an extra "s" in them so that one could view the other page(s) that are more relevant? It may seem confusing but...
For example, take a look at Complex number, which has a redirect created by me in case someone types in Complex numbers instead, adding the extra (s). Should I continue to add redirect(s) like this on other page(s) as well? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 05:28, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Sure! That's pretty helpful for the readers, and it also prevents us having accidental duplicate articles. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 05:48, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I want to know why you changed this back to Wikipedia instead of Simple Wiki. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 07:59, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Because this is Wikipedia (look below the globe in the top-right corner). Griffinofwales (talk) 12:29, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ummm... it says Simple English Wikipedia? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 19:20, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
It does, but it is still as much a Wikipedia as any other. While on this Wikipedia, we use the word Wikipedia to refer to this one, naturally. Simple Wiki is not an accurate shortening of our name in any case. Sorry for not leaving a note though. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 20:35, 3 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Beta version

What do you think about the new Vector skin as opposed to the Monobook one? I heard they were going to install it across the Wikimedia project. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 03:00, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I really like the new Vector skin, and the dropdown menus, but it's a pain when I'm using my cellphone to browse. There are quite a few glitches that are annoying, like the search bar, but I'm, as you can see, using Vector nevertheless. What do you think? {{Sonia|talk|en}} 03:21, 7 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Well, actually, to be Frank, the lack of visibility on the search bar coupled with the fact that that version of it is nearly impossible for me to use and figure out was one of the main reasons that I reverted from the Vector skin back to the old Monobook one. The other main reason I could only think of was the options in the edit menu that went missing after I tried on the Vector, such as the "Break" option, which looked something like this: <br /> and so I switched back. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 01:37, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Request Blocking

Special:Contributions/206.224.254.17 seems to be a vand-only account according to this recent diff here and the fact that he has a warning-level-4. Should we block him for 24 hours or advance to level 5 warnings?

Special:Contributions/195.194.238.110 seems to be a vand-only account as well. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 01:37, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is no such thing as a lvl5 warning, and a new warning should always be issued if a considerable time has passed since the last warning. Griffinofwales (talk) 02:00, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Does a difference of about a week qualify? If you look at the contribs, March 11 saw two edits to Isaac Newton and Abraham Lincoln, whilst the 19 of the same March saw two edits to the Sui dynasty which were this and this, all that and not including this most recent and questionable edit.
(Disclaimer: I am not an administrator and have no authority whatsoever in dealing with vandals. TeleComNasSprVen, in future you may wish to take it to Vandalism in progress in cases like this, or for any other questions to Simple talk, for the community.) The difference of a week makes it more likely that it is the same person, but it could well be a dynamic IP, meaning that the computer with that address changes often. In these cases, I usually go to a Level 2 instead of the level 1, and if there's a long track record straight to a Level 3 (but rarely.)
IP addresses should rarely be blocked for a long time, because there can be many people behind one IP. Hmm... it looks like this Wikipedia doesn't have a {{IPs used for vandalism}} type template. That said, the admins will look at the block log and talk page and make a judgement on how blocking is done. I will look into this further later if needed, it's quite late now. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 11:27, 8 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

It looks weird. I suggest you revise it. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 05:33, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Maybe that's because you are using internet explorer. It doesn't look much like that when seeing through Mozilla firefox. :) Cheers, Belle tête-à-tête 05:39, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
What does it look like through Firefox? Is it right-shifted? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 05:46, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
How bizarre. I've been having issues since Vector was rolled out (with transparency and tabling), but it has never looked like that for me. Hmm. I'll fix it when I have time. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 06:44, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

TeleComNasSprVen: Well, it looks very pretty and sweet to me, and I can't find anything like what you said when I looked through firefox. However, when I tried switching to internet explorer a few minutes ago to see how it looked, it was as you had said. I think it's okay, though, because most people use Firefox. If you want to see how it looks like through firefox, click here and you can download it. I don't see any especial need to keep a user page pretty, though, because of this rule. :) I admire your user page very much anyway, Sonia. I think you ought to have a user page barnstar, but I'll wait or some one else to give it (as I have been thrusting out too much barnstars recently and the admins may get annoyed ;p). Warmly, Belle tête-à-tête 06:55, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Wow. That is bad on IE6. (So is my enWP page, but not as badly.) Looks like some fixing is due. @Bella: Sadly, far too many people use IE- most people don't use Firefox. :P Thanks for the heads-up, TeleCom (Is it okay to call you that?) Cheers, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 07:17, 10 June 2010 (UTC) Moral of the story: Over-fancy code breaks things.Reply
Heh, and that's probably why you had issues with User:Barras/Wikiproject Maths as well- it's scraped off the same code, which I scraped off two other userpages- at that point I couldn't write very well in HTML. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 07:21, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh yeah, that looked way better on Firefox. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 07:55, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Unused accounts

Should I create redirects from alternate accounts, like this one? Your name pops up everywhere.TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 09:20, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Heh. Well, if you want your IP removed, you can have that done.
Really? I haven't been around for very long before the rename. At the moment, I'd rather not have the redirect, but thank you for noticing. When things have calmed down I may recreate it. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 09:25, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
? Calmed down? Is there a history to this? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 11:08, 10 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your talkpage

First, I like your new header. It resembles Fetchcomms'.

Second, I don't know where the Userboxes are ({{User:Sonia/Userboxen}}) and I don't know what this ({{-}}) means. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 23:17, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Her userboxen are on another page (user:Sonia/Userboxen) that is transcluded onto her userpage. The {{-}} is a transclusion of Template:- which simply clears both margins to make sure that the header often present below it will be the full length of the page. Lauryn Ashby (talk) 23:28, 19 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
What Lauryn said. (Fetchcomm's header? His is way more fancy.) I've also replied to your q on my enwiki talk page. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 00:57, 20 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Your bot

Please submit a bot request at Wikipedia talk:Bots. Thanks, Kansan (talk) 07:00, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I was kind of intending it to just be a separate AWB account for starters, because I don't really like having all the minor fixes adding pages to my watchlist and edit count. Do I have to submit a bot request for that? OpenBotmy master 07:03, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yes you do unless it is what you call an alternate account that is not a bot. Seeing its username has 'bot' in it, most likely you will appear to make quick succession of edits in that account like a bot. :) Nifky^ 07:06, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Okay then. It is for bot-like edits, that's why I chose a bot name. So, request will be filed shortly. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 07:09, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Macbeth

A minor comment on your Macbeth plot summary: what is going on in Act I is not a civil war. The war is Norway v. Scotland with some of the Scottish turning against their country to fight for Norway. Just a minor comment for now. Let me know if you need any help along the way in looking over it or improving it; I teach the play and know it fairly well. Take care, Either way (talk) 10:48, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you for the offer, and for the correction. I really appreciate it. I'll let you know when I would like feedback or help. Regards, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 11:01, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hi

I brought Template:Br separated entries over as well, if you think it's needed for the Islands infobox. If it works fine without it, then it makes no difference to me. Lauryn Ashby (talk) 19:26, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Okay, thanks. I'm going to be late for orchestra, but I'll look at it after the concert tonight. Cheers, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 19:29, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
No rush, I just thought I would bring it to your attention in case you hadn't noticed it. The servers are all wonky at the moment, hence the delay. Have a good time at your rehearsal/concert/or practise, as the case may be. Cheers, Lauryn Ashby (talk) 19:32, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Thanks  . For the one page using the infobox now, it doesn't need the template; but others with more complex names may later. I'll put it back in. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 22:38, 23 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Hello!

Just wondering if you've switched the histories around for your userpage and your english one. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 07:11, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

Huh? No, I haven't; as far as I know that would require a developer, and there isn't really much point. Why do you ask? {{Sonia|talk|en}} 07:31, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I see. At a guess, you looked at the history of my en page, which is rather short. It had many revisions before that, but I had it deleted and recreated it. I'm sorry if this confused you. Regards, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 11:09, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Oh. That's okay. There's no need to be sorry; I just wanted to know. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 18:58, 26 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

I wanted to know what welcome template you used for the IP (so I can use it next time).   :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 00:43, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply

It would be {{anon}}. EhJJTALK 00:58, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Eh? It doesn't resemble that template at all. In fact, the intro closely mirrors {{Welcomevandal}} and the body mirrors {{Welcome}}. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 01:05, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Generally, I use {{User:Sonia/welc-vandal}}, which is in my own userspace, for new users who have made not-quite-helpful changes, as I feel they do often go on to be good contributors if treated right. Good spotting, and you're welcome to use it, but maybe I should move it into templatespace. {{Sonia|talk|en}} 01:11, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Yeah, we should replace Template:Welcomevandal with yours. It seriously needs cleaning up with all the redlinks. :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 02:01, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
Ugh. Transwikied templates that don't quite work. Yes, feel free to replace- are there any more transwikied welcome templates? I might just go and fix them all. Cheers, {{Sonia|talk|en}} 02:44, 28 June 2010 (UTC)Reply
