This page in a nutshell: Simple English Wikipedia does not have all the rules. If there are no rules here about something, the English Wikipedia rule should be used as a guideline. |
The Simple English Wikipedia is smaller than the English Wikipedia. Because of this, we have fewer rules than the English Wikipedia. However, there may be times where there is not a rule on Simple English Wikipedia that covers a specific problem, or it is not clear how to act. In these cases, you should look at the English Wikipedia's list of rules to see what their rule is, and use that as a guideline or suggestion on dealing with that problem.
However, Simple English Wikipedia is different from English Wikipedia, so you should be careful in applying those rules. Local rules (that is, those that are already on Simple English Wikipedia) take priority over the ones from other wikis. Because of this, no English Wikipedia policy is a policy on Simple English Wikipedia—they are never more than guidelines.
