George Fernandes
Indian trade unionist and politician (1930–2019)
George Fernandes[1] (3 June 1930 – 29 January 2019) was the former Indian trade unionist, politician,[2] journalist,[3] agriculturist, and member of Rajya Sabha from Bihar.[4] He was a key member of the Janata Dal (United), and is the founder of the Samata Party.

Fernandes suffered from Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases, and in January 2010 was underwent treatment at Baba Ramdev's ashram at Haridwar[5] He died of complications from the diseases on 29 January 2019 in New Delhi, aged 88.[6][7]
