Kursk Oblast (Russian: Курская область) is an oblast (region) of Russia. It is a federal subject of Russia. Its administrative center is the city of Kursk. In 2010, 1,127,081 people lived in the oblast.[7]

A governor is its leader.

In August 2024, thousands of Ukrainian soldiers invaded parts of the oblast. That attack is part of the Russo-Ukrainian war.
