Semi-presidential system
system of government in which a president exists alongside a prime minister and a cabinet
A semi-presidential system is a type of government. It combines parts of a presidential system and parliamentary system. In a semi-presidential system, there are two main offices: a president and prime minister. The president is elected and the head of state, meaning they represent the country to other countries. The prime minister is the head of government and leads the executive branch of the country. The president usually appoints the prime minister.[1]
