• Link a term the first time it occurs, not every time
  • I think this is done. I removed most of the extra links except a couple situations. If it showed up in the infobox and the article I left it linked once in each. • Are there any lepidopterans that are neither butterfly nor moth and that use this plant? - because if there aren't, we could link butterfly, moth, and leave out the lepidoptera altogether.

• our audience will likely look for the "common name" in English. For this reason, it is good practice to get redirects from the common names to this pages (no idea if they exist, haven't checked).

• Binominal name/synoyms: I am no botanist, so I don't know what the official rule is, but again: go for the "most common", and create redirects for the others.
• Use images to help make a point:in addition to the bracts explanation, find an image of bracts to include. Another idea would be to mention that bracts are in fact leaves that have been adapted to serve a special purpose. After all, Simple English is also about writing in a language that the reader can understand easily.
• try shorter sentences, and link the technical terms: Female flowers lack stamens and have only a very short tube-shaped corolla surrounding a pistil that splits to form two stigmas, while bisexual or hermaphrodite flowers have a longer corolla, and (as in virtually all members of the family) five stamens fused at the anthers, with the pistil emerging from the center.
• We probably do have some of the articles that now appear as red links, but they are not where enwp has them; a bit of searching will reveal this.
