Welcome to WikiProject Simplification. Let's face it, many of the articles on the Simple English Wikipedia just aren't as simple as they should be. The goal is to make articles here simpler and to use as much Basic English as possible. If you wish to join, add your name to the list by adding #~~~ below!

Guidelines for Simplification

1. Read the guide on simplifying articles.
2. Go to the complex pages category, or our category of the week (top of the page).
3. Choose an article. Try to choose from the oldest category.
4. Simplify the article. For popular complex words and their simple counterparts, go here. Feel free to add to that list.
5. COPY EDIT YOUR WORK. This cannot be stressed any more. If something is simple but unreadable, then there is just as big of a problem as before.
6. Check the article's readability here. If the grade level is eighth grade or below, then you're done! If it's not, keep trying to simplify. Some articles can't be simplified as much as others, because they're technical.
7. When you're done, remove the complex tag.
8. Repeat!
