Question about empty categories

Hello :) I'm asking you because you are the number 1 Category Expert, but anyone who knows can answer. How do you know when a category has been empty for four days? And how do you deal with monthly backlog categories that automatically C1 themselves once they are empty? My guess is that old backlogs are deleted straight away because they are unlikely to be re-populated again, but I am curious to know if that's the case or not. @Dream Indigo: Good questions.

"How do you know when a category has been empty for four days?"

I put the category in my watchlist temporarily, then look for any activity in it during the last 4 days. That will show if anything was removed from it during that time. I think you have to have "category changes" active for this to work, and display at least 4 days worth of activity in your watchlist.

I assume you mean maintenance categories. I consider these an exception to the 4-day rule. If they are for past months, I would delete them as soon as they are empty.

@Asteralee: I'm not sure what you mean by "a subcategory and two categories" -- do you mean a subcat and two articles?
