Hey Duggee: Vip Help Desk

change

Hi, Shoot for the Stars. I saw that you changed a QD template on this page to WP:QD#G4. That option applies to pages that were previously deleted at RFD. This page had only been QD'd before, so the G4 option doesn't apply. Don't worry, though, because that's a common misunderstanding. I've put back the RFD template on the page, so there's no need for you to do anything. -- Auntof6 (talk) 23:27, 11 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Auntof6 I apologize for that. Thanks a bunch for letting me know. Shoot for the Stars (talk) 02:23, 12 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

RfD vs. Qd

change

Hi there. I noticed you filled up the RfD board with a lot of articles. Most of these could be QD'd. Worst is it gets denied then you can request RfD for it. Typically, for QD, as long as it does not state anything about notability in it (like winning national or international awards) or if someone contests it claiming notability, then you can QD it for A4 and put your statement in the box. Most admins will say if they see notability in it or not and will say to take it to RfD instead. QD should be the first stop as there is no waiting period for it, whereas, with RfD that means the article will be up for 7 days which will allow it to be shown on google, showing more marketing (more or less) to the person or company. If you are not sure, you can always post on my talk page and I can give you my advice as well. You can always check wikidata to see how old the articles are. Basically on wikidata, the lower the number, the longer it has been on wikipedia. A lot of non-notable creator/editors will create a new object which gives them a very large 8 or 9 digit number. I believe we are at over 2 billion numbers. So if the object is Q65746 it has been on wikipedia a while vs. Q25653890266 which would signify it was recently made. I have a script that shows me the WD object with the article if you would like me to share it with you. As always, if you have any questions, please let me know. PotsdamLamb, apologies for the late reply. I didn't get a notice for some reason. Anyway, I have been seeing a lot of articles that are not even notable. It's good to know that QD is an option for this because I want to put all these articles up for RFD, but the problem is that it fills the page up. I appreciate you letting me know. April 2024

change

Hello, Shoot for the Stars. When you revert a user's changes, like you did earlier, don't forget to leave the user a message on their talk page, especially when reverting vandalism or a test edit. You may find Template:User talk page warnings/table useful when doing this, to let them know that the change was considered inappropriate, and to direct them to the sandbox. Thank you. I recommend using twinkle and selecting the level and what the issue was so the appropriate template gets listed. Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 20:11, 15 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

QDs declined

change

Hi, I think you should know that some of your QD's have been declined by Fr33kman. You can nominate them for RfD if you wish. Kk.urban (talk) 03:20, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply

Comment: Actually pretty much all of them. I will say and agree with the sysop on their decline as they all show notability. I had no problems finding references for them on the web and in news articles (remember, the references do not have to be in English). I did create a script you can use to help you search various sources in one click. You can check out the information on Wikipedia:Simple talk#New Script for everyone Thanks, and be well! - PDLTalk to me!Please don't eat da 🐑! 03:41, 16 April 2024 (UTC)Reply
